Student injured in Finland high school stabbing

Helsinki, Oct 24 (IANS) A stabbing incident in a Sami high school in Utsjoki, a northern town in Finland, around noon Friday, left one male student seriously injured, media reported.


The stabbing occurred during school hours, the report said, with local police receiving an alert about the incident at around 12 noon, Xinhua reported citing Finnish News Agency STT.

Police said that one suspect has been taken into custody, and students in the high school have been evacuated.

The badly injured student has been sent to hospital by a helicopter for treatment.

According to STT, the male suspect, under 30 years old, was an adult student in the school.

Police said that there was no danger posed to anyone anymore in and outside the school.
